Elite Stora Hotellet is located in central Linköping at the historical market square. The hotel offers 117 spacious rooms, some with magnificent views overlooking the vibrant square. Guests can enjoy the exercise room and sauna as well as running routes developed by the hotel.

When staying at Elite Stora Hotellet, Linköping's wide range of shopping and entertainment is right around the corner. The city's historical centre is within walking distance of the hotel, with the powerful cathedral and the cosy Old Town with boutiques and its annual Christmas market.

The hotel has three beautiful conference rooms with capacity for up to 130 people. Dating back to the 1850s, they are unique in their appearances and differs in sizes. There is also a group room with all necessary conference technology.

Next to the hotel's entrance is Storan Restaurant and Bar. This classic restaurant is one of Linköping's most visited and serves deliciously inspired dishes from all corners of the world. Our gastropub The Bishops Arms is within walking distance of the hotel (300 meter) and has a wide range of good food and drinks.

Comment: The rooms were very cosy and comfortable. Big windows in the room and comfortable bed. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. The only drawback is the gym. It is quite small with no treadmill or other equipments. Please make the gym more accessible/bigger and add maybe at least a treadmill.

Check-in is guaranteed from 15.00 on the day of arrival and check-out takes place no later than 11.00 on the day of departure.

Elite Stora Hotellet Linköping was built in 1852 and comprises three storeys. It is a historical site and one of the finer examples in Scandinavia of the Empire style, which was very much in fashion in Sweden between 1810 and 1850. Jonas Jonsson was the man responsible for the design and construction. He had worked in Stockholm with leading architects such as Axel Nyström, Fredrik Blom and Fredrik Scholander. Jonsson developed the Empire style, which he had learned from Axel Nyström, and his personal style is generally known as “Jonsson Empire”. He made use of the rich variety of decorative elements at his disposal. The hotel’s pilasters, for example, originally had an embossed pattern, now concealed by the smooth rendering.

Construction of the hotel marked the transition in Linköping from wooden buildings to stone buildings. In 1893, a fourth storey was added to the hotel, which altered the original proportions of the building substantially. The ground floor housed a bank at one time. The hotel is now one of the oldest city hotels in the country.

E4 South

Keep to the right at exit 113 Linköping Östra and follow road 35 towards Västervik/Åtvidaberg/Linköping Ö/Flygplats. Turn left at the second exit at the roundabout on to Norrköpingsvägen. Follow the road to the first exit in the roundabout to Tullbron. Turn right to the central station and left to Järnvägsgatan, left to Sankt Larsgatan and the third right to Borgmästaregatan. The sign ”Permit only vehicles” is not valid for our guests. Take the second exit to the left in to Stora torget and Elite Stora Hotellet.

E4 north

Keep to the right at exit 111 Linköping Västra and follow road 34 towards Vimmerby/Motala/Linköping V. Continue to Malmslättsvägen, turn left at Östgötagatan, right to Vasavägen, right to Sankt Larsgatan and the third right on to Borgmästaregatan. The sign ”Permit only vehicles” is not valid for our guests. Take the second exit to the left in to Stora torget and Elite Stora Hotellet.

Directions by train

Linköping Central Station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Follow the signs to the city centre, through the park (Järnvägsparken), turn left at Sankt Larsgatan, then right to Borgmästaregatan and Stora Torget where you will see the hotel.
